Understand the Dental Implant Process in Irving

Dr. Mounir Iskandar will carefully plan your surgery before you visit our dental practice near Dallas. He will use your CT scan and the ProFace facial mapping system to pinpoint the placement of each dental implant to the nearest millimeter.

First, this procedure is typically performed under IV-sedation, administered by our Anesthesiologist, to make sure that our patients are very comfortable during the entire procedure. Second, Dr. M. will start the surgery by preparing the jaw bone and inserting all dental implants to the pre-planned positions. Because this is his specialty and because he has performed thousands of these procedures, Dr. M. can insert each implant accurately and quickly, making the actual surgical procedure smoother and more comfortable for you. The next step is to attach your temporary teeth that will be used while the implants heal.

Once the implants are in place, they will need time to fuse or osseointegrate with the surrounding bone. This normally takes three to four months. Once healing is complete, you can return to Radiance Dentistry to receive your beautiful new teeth.

Keep in mind that the same day you have your surgery, you leave with a new temporary set of teeth. We know patients are often concerned they will be left without teeth after dental implant surgery. We want to reassure you that this will not happen.
